I Can Knit

I found myself a new hobby, knitting, and I am pretty good at it. Right now, I am obsessed with socks. I don't know what it is but I just love the small needles and the thin yarn. I have not tried a sweater yet, but I did make a bag and some hats for the family.

I have also found an excellent way to get yarn cheap, recycling the yarn from sweaters. It is addicting. I cannot believe how much yarn I can get from one sweater. It blows my mind considering that it would cost at least $30 for that amount if bought at a store.

Next, I am going to learn how to spin on a spindle. I just need to make it. I also need to ply the cotton yarn I rescued from a sweater, so I can make another grocery bag. Hubby doesn't understand, but I don't understand the zombie obsession either. No biggie.

Trying to Change

It is hard trying to change the flaws that I have just so I can relate to my family. After 14 years of just riding the wave of life, it is time for me to buckle down and focus on the family. I am not getting any younger. I think the first step is to be more present in the day, and not be distracted. The way I can do that is by paying attention to when my kids and hubby talk, give opinions when I see them and resolve complaints. I also need to show a lot of love and compassion with them. That is going to be my intention for the week.

I need to remember ... Baby steps. If I put my mind to it, it can be done.

Purpose of this

The purpose of this is for me to vent when I want, cry if I want and SCREAM if I want. It is also somewhere I can just write if I want.
